Last night, we had a wonderful time hanging out with friends and family. Before we went out for the April Birthdays, we saw my Dad and their dog, Sasha. Sasha is super tolerant of boisterous Winston and they have fun playing together. That picture last night is of them looking out the window.
The picture of the two young guys is of my other Dad and his buddy, Sam. They are working on making their first batch of red wine and I’m using the picture to help design a label. In case it was hard to see last night’s, here it is again –
This was taken in Alaska…awhile back. We all had a ton of fun last night; it was so good to see everyone!
Today was a wonderfully slow day for me and super busy for Josh – he went on another long ride this morning all the way from Magnuson Park around Mercer Island and back. In all, it was a 36 mile ride. While he was off riding all morning, I started reading a new book – The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern – and it is fantastic! It’s the kind of book that makes you want to stay up all night reading. I’m only a couple chapters in but, so far, I highly recommend it.
This afternoon, we took Winston on a super long walk through a neighborhood park. All the clouds cleared away and the temperature actually got up to 60 degrees; we were amazed. We tried to see if Winston would like going in the water, but it was a no go. The little tiny waves that snuck up spooked him, so we ended up picking him up and carrying him back to the trail.
It stayed nice for most of the evening, so Josh and I strolled down to the fish market and bought fish and chips for dinner.
It was still pretty decent, so we ended up using our deck furniture for the first time and ate outside.
Now (like almost the entire rest of the US) we are off to catch this season’s first episode of Game of Thrones!
